My husband had been mowing around our fields and straddled this nest with the mower. Now I have been on "the farm" for 32 years and have never seen a nest of wild turkey eggs. This nest just happen to be close enough to walk to and my husband remembered to tell me about it. As he walked closer to it to show me, the mama turkey flew out and this is what we saw. 12 eggs, larger than a chicken egg. Pretty beige with tiny speckles. I hope to keep an eye on them since they are close to a field road and take pics of some babies if I am lucky.
Last eve the sun was shining brightly and the sky opened up and just poured. Perfect photo op for a double rainbow.
