JULY 4TH CELEBRATION

NOT TODAY..... We will be celebrating in our hearts and our prayers, just not in the yard. It is pouring rain as I type. It is predicted cloudy and rainy all day. Let's not forget to pray for those still fighting and protecting and those who have lost life for OUR FREEDOM.....

  4. I guess I shouldn't complain too much as it is just gloomy here. It's dry though could use a little garden watering. Your house looks splendid!

  6. This IS my house. It is a 100+ year old farmhouse that we moved into in 1978 and we took a room a year and renovated it. We kept all the original woodwork and most all of the charm is still there. We renovated the front porch, that was a mess and changed the back quite a bit. Then we planted over 100 trees around the farm and I started perinnials way back in the day. I love living here, my kids grew up here. Alan, my husband has lived in this area all his life, except for 4 yrs. of college and since my family moved alot, I was glad to put down roots in one spot! His parents live in the same house his dad was born in. That's just a mile down the road. I have been truly blessed with space to live and grow and breathe and become in....

  7. I'm drooling over your home AND your hostas. This is JUST what I imagined a farmhouse in Iowa to look like! Beautiful. There's something about a wrap-around porch that calls to my heart.

We did such glamorous things as cleaning out the garden shed, baking snickerdoodles and sorting children's outgrown clothing. No fireworks with the Farmer and his wife! We thought we'd be haying, but got some much prayed for rain, and everyone else already had made plans.

    Happy Independence Day!
