CHICAGO - PART 1

Three hour drive, GARMIN leads us right to our hotel... All day parking $14.00 (a luxury) and ohhh so glad to find! We just parked and left our SUV there. We walked and taxi'd everywhere. This city is amazing!!! I was wide-eyed the whole time!!! We stayed on 11th and Michigan, Best Western. Very clean hotel (with pool for the kids) without all the frills. I didn't want to pay for the frills...

Our hotel was across the street from Grant Park. All along the park, you can get to pretty much any attraction by the walk paths without crossing traffic.

First day - Shedd Aquarium - A must see!!
A look back at the city from the Shedd Aquarium.

I was truly amazed by the buildings and there really is so much to do. A person could spend a whole week in Chicago and not see all it has to offer. I felt comfortable walking the streets and it is really set up for tourists. People were friendly and helpful. We had a great time... more pics to come....
DON'T FORGET!!!! 100TH POST GIVEAWAY, CHECK OUT MY AUGUST 12TH POST FOR DETAILS!!!

  1. How fun! Chicago has has a lot to offer. I was born and raised there and still haven't been to all the attractions. I'm glad I live a little "up north" now as the city can be very inconvenient.

  3. I love Chicago, it is truly a gem of the Midwest, the old buildings are amazing, as are the new ones...but you will freeze your butt off in the winter, especially along Lakeshore Drive, but what a huge lake to see, just like the ocean...I wanna go back to market, nuthin like it!
