Got the tree done.....
1,0000 lights and 75 glass ornaments...... This tree is huge!!!! See how tall it is to the front door. 9'2'' are the ceilings and it is touching. Every year we say we are going to get a smaller tree and it just never happens!!
Because we don't have little ones or little grand ones, I am able to put all my glass ornaments on the tree without fear of breakage. I only fear someone getting cut, not losing an ornament.
But the cat is too old to care and it's only DH (dear hubby) and I so I think we are safe. Kids (all 2 + sig. others) will be home for Christmas eve only and then Christmas Day I always cook for anywhere between 12-20, just never know who will be here. This year we may have the distinct pleasure of sharing our Christmas meal with my niece and her husband from St. Louis. I am hoping they can join us! They want to come up here and I have invited them to join us, we shall see...
My girlfriend, Piper at Friends Candle Shed, painted this the other day and I just had to have it! I'm not sure the paint was even dry when I exclaimed, "That one's mine!!!!" She calls them SNOWTINIS". She actually did about 6 of them. They are painted on old single pane windows and are just adorable. This picture does not do this justice.... Wait 'til you see what I do with this at my back door!!!
Oh my gosh, your tree is huge. Must have taken forever to get the lights on.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!

Ohhhh - - - I LOVE that snowman "miracle" painting. It LOOKS like it's painted on a CHALK board, is it? I NEEEEEEEEED one for my classroom. ;-0
ReplyDeleteOK - - - how I WISH your e-mail addy was on the e-mails I get alerting me of your comments on my blog, then I could shoot my answers/thoughts directly back to you.
You asked if I wondered where our youngest, Kyle, got his sense of adventure. You know, I was scared to death for him to go to Sweden alone. But that was because he was going ALONE - - - unlike what I did which was with a missions group. Also, Kyle thinks he's outreasoned the need for God, and that scared me too.
Then you asked me if I was ready to come home from Africa after 7 weeks. And the answer to that is a positive and strong NO. We bonded to tightly to each other - - - we HAD to 'cause we were together 24/7 in a new and strange to us culture - - - and I KNEW we'd never all be together like that again. In fact, I've only ever seen a FEW of them since, and some of those only once or so.
Besides - - - I fell head over heels in love with Larry of the yellow shirt - - - and he was going "home" to marry HIS true love, so I wasn't in any hurry to see the last of him, either.
But oh, my, what a fabulous journey it was - - - in oh so many ways. I have MORE stories - - - but it was sooooooo long ago, who would want to hear them?
Love the snowman. Your tree looks beautiful, you did a great job.
